About Interac payments

Interac is a fast way to pay your Keep card balance using funds from your external business bank account. The payment is initiated through your Keep Dashboard, you do not need to send an Interac e-Transfer from your bank’s app.

Payment limits:

  • Minimum amount: $100 CAD

  • Maximum amount: $1,000 CAD

    If your payment is below $100 or above $1,000, the Interac option will appear disabled.

Fee: 1.5% per payment (maximum fee of $10 CAD). This fee covers the cost of processing your Interac payment. You’ll see the exact fee when you choose this payment method.

Example: If you pay $1,000, the total amount you will send is $1,010.

Note: Only the original payment amount ($1,000) is applied to your Keep balance. The fee is not applied to your balance.

How to pay with Interac

1. Go to Payments in your Dashboard.

2. Enter your payment amount.

Enter an amount between $100 CAD and $1,000 CAD.

3. Select Interac as your payment method. Choose Interac e-Transfer® by Payment Source. You’ll see a breakdown of your payment and fee before proceeding.

4. Complete your payment. You will be redirected to our Interac partner’s page.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer using your bank. Once complete, you’ll return to Keep and your payment will be applied instantly.

Troubleshooting and common issues

Why can’t I select Interac?

If your payment is below $100 or above $1,000, the Interac option will be disabled.

My payment didn’t show instantly, what should I do?

In most cases, Interac payments are applied right away. In rare cases, it may take up to 1 business day. If it takes longer, contact us.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Do I pay the 1.5% fee every time I use Interac?

Yes. A 1.5% fee applies to each Interac payment, up to a maximum of $10 CAD.

Can I use Interac to pay larger amounts?

Not at this time. For amounts above $1,000 CAD, use your linked business bank account.

Does the fee go toward my balance?

No. Only your original payment amount is applied to your Keep balance or capital. The fee is separate.

Can I send an Interac payment directly from my bank’s app?

No. Interac payments must be initiated through your Keep Dashboard. You cannot send an Interac payment from your bank’s app to pay your Keep balance.

Can I cancel an Interac payment after sending it?

No. Once you complete an Interac payment through your Keep Dashboard, it is processed immediately and cannot be canceled.

Will I get a receipt for my Interac payment?

Yes. You’ll see your payment and fee reflected in your Payments section of the Dashboard, and it will appear on your next statement. Please note applied fee won’t be shown.
