How to set spending limits on your Keep cards

Spending limits help you control how much can be spent on each Keep card. Whether you’re issuing cards for employees, contractors, or specific business expenses, you can set individual limits and update them anytime from your dashboard.

Your ability to issue cards depends on your Keep plan:

  • Core: Up to 3 users
  • Plus: Up to 10 users
  • Max: Unlimited users

Frequently asked questions

Can I change a spending limit later?

Can I set different limits for different team members?

Yes. Every card has its own spending limit, allowing you to customize limits based on each person’s role or budget.

What happens when a card reaches its spending limit?

Any transaction that would exceed the card’s available spending limit will be declined until the limit resets or you increase it.

Does every team member need their own card?

Yes. Each virtual or physical card is assigned to a single cardholder, making it easier to manage spending and track expenses.

How many cards can I issue?

Keep supports a large number of virtual cards for most businesses. If your account reaches a high volume (around 100 active virtual cards), our Compliance team may perform a brief review to confirm appropriate business use before additional cards are issued.

The number of users you can assign cards to depends on your plan:

  • Core: Up to 3 users

  • Plus: Up to 10 users

  • Max: Unlimited users
