Setting up your Keep secured card starts with funding a security deposit. This deposit determines your available spending limit.

Before you get started

Your secured deposit is the amount you choose when funding your Keep secured card. The deposit determines your credit limit on a 1:1 basis. For example, a $2,000 deposit gives you a $2,000 credit limit. The minimum deposit is $50. You can increase your deposit any time by funding a new amount.

What your secured deposit is

Your secured deposit is fully refundable. It acts as security for your Keep secured card and sets your available spending limit.

Maintaining your secured card with responsible use and repayment helps you build positive financial behavior within Keep.

Where your deposit is held

Your deposit is pulled from your linked business bank account through a secure pre-authorized debit (PAD). It is held in a separate custodial account within the Visa network. It is not held in your regular Keep Banking account.

Your deposit will not appear in your dashboard balance, but it is securely held and remains yours. It is not used by Keep for any other purpose.

How to access your deposit

You can request a full refund of your secured deposit any time, as long as your card balance is fully paid and your account is in good standing.

Partial refunds are not supported. You must request a full refund. Your card will remain open unless you specifically ask to close it. The refund will be returned to your Keep Banking CAD account.

What happens after your request

Once your refund is confirmed:

  • Your full secured deposit will be returned to your Keep Banking CAD account.

  • Refunds are typically delivered within 8 business days from confirmation.

  • Your card will remain open unless you request to close it.

You will receive email updates when your refund is processed.
