How to Deposit Funds for the Secured Card Feature

Depositing funds to secure your credit limit with Keep is quick and straightforward. Once we receive your deposit, we’ll update the limit on your existing Keep card, and you can begin using it right away. This guide will walk you through the process of transferring funds

Before You Begin

  1. Determine Your Collateral Amount
    Decide how much you’d like to deposit as collateral. This amount will become your secured credit limit.
  2. Have an Active Keep Business Account
    You need an open and active Keep Bank Account to deposit funds.
  3. Obtain Deposit Instructions
    Make sure you have the correct account details (e.g., account number, routing number, etc.) to transfer your funds successfully.

Steps to Deposit Funds

  1. Log in to Your Keep Account
    Go to app.trykeep.com and enter your credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Banking Section
  3. Move Money
    Click on “Move Money” and choose “Add or Receive Funds.”
  4. Deposit Funds
  • Choose the receiving currency first, CAD.
  • Select the transfer type (domestic or international).
    • For local (domestic) transfers, select the EFT Transfers/Domestic tab.
    • For international transfers, select the International Wires/SWIFT tab.
  • Processing Time: EFT transfers typically take 1–2 business days to process.

Viewing Your Deposit

Once Keep receives and processes your deposit:

  1. Check Your Balance Log in and navigate to Banking to see your updated account balance.
    Please note that once the funds are moved into our holding account for collateral, you will no longer see those funds as part of your spendable balance.
  2. Verify Your Total Credit Card Limit From your Home Page, you can confirm your newly updated credit limit. The deposited amount will be added to your current credit limit.
  3. Contact Support if Needed If your deposit isn’t reflected after the expected timeframe, please reach out to Keep Support at support@trykeep.com

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long does it take for my funds to show up?     EFT transfers typically take 1–2 business days to process, though this may vary depending on your bank.
  2. Is there a minimum deposit requirement? No. Keep does not require a minimum collateral amount for a secured card.
  3. Will I receive confirmation when the deposit is complete? Yes. You’ll receive an email confirmation once Keep has successfully received and applied your deposit to your secured card limit.
  4. Can I withdraw my funds at any time? Yes, but doing so will reduce or eliminate your secured credit limit. If you need to withdraw funds or close your secured card, please contact Keep Support or your Account Manager for assistance.
  5. If I use my funds from my Banking account, will my credit limit go down? You cannot directly spend the collateral you’ve deposited. We place these funds on hold until you request them back or you are transitioned to an unsecured limit. If you withdraw the collateral, your secured credit limit will decrease or be eliminated.
